These services can be applied to both the Client Server and mainframe environments. Benchmarking services which focus on the identification and profiling of new applications and systems include: 1) Workload Characterization and the development of typical resource profiles. 2) Volume estimation and forecasting of workload demand. 3) Prototype development for use in benchmark execution. 4) Benchmark Design, planning execution and performance measurement. 5) Selection of hardware and platform for benchmark execution. 6) Load testing and scripting services and 7)Analysis and Projection of resource requirements in terms of server size and capacity, memory and disk requirements.
